The Summer Engagement Slump is Real—Here’s How to Beat It

Written by LTC@Home Team | Jul 8, 2025 11:30:00 AM

Summer brings sunshine, vacations, and unfortunately, a dip in healthcare engagement. But for LTC@Home patients, medication regimens don’t pause for summer. Pharmacies that maintain proactive communication can bridge this seasonal gap.

Start by reaching out to patients and caregivers with personalized check-ins. Use these to confirm upcoming refills, update allergies or medication lists, and inquire about health changes.

Launch a summer education campaign. Share tips for medication storage in hot weather, reminders about hydration, and information on how medications may interact with sun exposure.

For your partners, offer summer “booster kits” or quick refresher webinars on how to refer, what services you provide, or how you can help them meet quality metrics.

Staying present through the summer means fewer medication lapses, improved patient safety, and uninterrupted revenue flow.
